Lark and his colleagues are also collaborating with a team of Russian scientists to study the genetics of two populations of foxes, which are ancestors of dogs. One of the fox groups is even more aggressively anti-human than typical foxes, and the other group, lacking a fear of humans, behave as friendly as puppies. "Our hope," Lark said, "is that we will find the region of the genome that determines domestication — the behavior that allows animals, and perhaps humans, to co-exist in a friendly and trusting manner."
Interesting point - a "domesticated" human population genetically modified to be friendly and trusting...
For every puppy-like fox, there are probably anti-social jackals. Would this be a congregation of saints or a flock of victims?
